Position Summary
The Senior Prior Auth Technician will work a rotating call schedule throughout the day to support Clinical Services Representative I, II, and III with complex non-clinical or Prior Authorization questions or calls. Responsibilities include assisting supervisors with day to day tactical issues, handling escalated calls, training, coaching and other business needs. The ideal candidate will promote a positive working environment and initiates suggestions to continually improve processes; assists supervisors with standardization of procedures, coaching, training, and dissemination of information to staff; act as a subject matter expert in processes, procedures and products; communicate clearly and accurately when interacting with all levels of employees, plan participants, account managers and partners; manage escalated and more advanced Prior Authorization issues when needed; answer questions and recommend corrective action to address complaints; handle special projects and assignments as designated by the supervisor and/or manager.

Required Qualifications

Ability to read and understand guidelines and translate into an override

Requires flexibility to work various shifts between 8am and 8pm CST

Experience with Prior Authorizations

Preferred Qualifications

Must have at least 1 year in Aetna Prior Authorization Department
Pharmacy Technician License

Superior PC skills in Windows based applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superior soft skills
Ability to work in a high-paced work environment
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to positively deal with changes and promote a positive work environment
Basic math skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must have excellent attendance & schedule adherence

Education

A verifiable High School diploma/GED

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 – $35.29
